hullo, hullo! long time, no type!
we've been back from our road-trip for roughly 10 days now, and it's taken me that long to get back into the swing of things. so, apologies for my laziness. and i know i should apologize for more than just that, my sporadic posting schedule has become somewhat of a concern for me and i've been thinking that if i can't get it together enough to post at least three times a week, then really, perhaps i should have a solid rethink about a wee bit, and re-evaluate the importance it plays in my wee, little life.
and so, i had a little think on it, and i came up with my one and only answer. i may not have the most readers, i may not incite the excitement of other bloggers and other fashiony-types, and i may not have the insight or know the history well enough, but i still love fashion. and i realized that that's enough for me to keep on doing this, however often - even if it does just end up being just for me.
anyway, that was my quick thought on not much at all. and let's continue on with this complete non-sequitur!
now, for something completely different: i loved this little article with matt tyrnauer (director of "valentino: the last emperor") and andré leon talley from nymag.com:
"Audience member: When Valentino calls Giancarlo from Gstaad, does he not know how to dial long distance? Because he has a butler do it for him.
MT: No, he doesn't. There would be a dialing situation. He lives a life that hasn’t existed for 50 years. Valentino never changed. He’s very anachronistic, but he was still relevant because he was a genius at what he did.
ALT: Karl Lagerfeld knows how to dial."
