it got really quiet again after new york. and suddenly, i changed my mind about things. london came and went. milan is almost done. paris looms, and i don't think i'll be putting my hat in the ring.

i’ve realized that posting has become pressure, and feeling bad about neglecting the blog has weighed heavily on me. it’s just that it dawned on me recently that although i still love, lust, and have a sincere curiosity about the world of fashion, i just don’t need to write about it and only it, anymore.

there are so many things that i’m curious about, so many other things that interest me: books, music, design, and yes, now that there’s a wee little babe in my life, things about being a parent – that i’ve decided to close up shop at a wee bit skint. i've started a new place to meander nonsensically and i really hope you'll consider visiting me at my new place of residence - only style remains.

i’m starting out a slack pace, so that i can work out what i want only style remains to be, and how i want it to look, feel and sound – but, should you not want to follow me there, i'll just say thanks so much for coming back even when i wasn't sure if i was going to come back myself. 

i've loved a wee bit skint for so long, i'll miss it so much, but it's time to move on!

i can only imagine the spectacle that the met's costume institute actually is. it seems almost otherworldly, the beautiful people, the flash bulbs snapping, and of course, the clothes...

alas.

the clothes did not knock my socks off. red carpet entrances from year's past just seemed to have that gasp effect; this year, not so much.

they weren't all bores, there were some interesting looks...

i'm hoping my run of filled-to-the-brim sundays will end soon, so that i can finally join in on the fun at a T.F.B.B.

although i've been out of commission on the wee bit front as of late, that does not mean that i've been sitting idly by while the world passes me by. i've been super busy - the fact finally dawning on me that there comes a moment where you just have to say, 'no, i actually can't do that for you' because i've got much too much to do for myself.

so, let's see - over the last couple of weeks, i've seen my best friend get married, the boy and i have chosen our caterers for our w-day, and i was showered - my mother throwing me a fête that travelled straight from moscow right to toronto... it happened this past sunday, and from what i've heard, people are just beginning to feel a little less full. and well, my wedding dress has arrived. it's waiting patiently for me to come and take a peek, but to be honest, i think i'll just have to give myself a few more days until i'm courageous enough to go and have a boo. it's a very daunting experience, this white dress thing...

but, with all of these things on the go, i have had a moment or two to pick up a few things along the way - not surprisingly, i make time to shop. i've mostly binged on shoes, but when they look as good as these kors (yes, both pairs) seaport flats and koko platforms, can you really blame me?

   

and i have to say, those platforms are super comfortable... which is always a plus.

more is upcoming, but we have to start somewhere...
